Make it with local materials
The compact set can easily be shipped throughout Europe and with the clear instructions for use you can make your own unique tripod barbecue. Anyone can do it! (tested by several left hands).
Make it from branches, poles, oars, banisters, broomsticks, you name it! Then it's a matter of lighting the fire, inviting your friends and then stealing the show!
According to the old tradition from the German Saarland, it is even inappropriate to buy a Schwenker (tripod barbecue) ready-made. You build this yourself like a real Schwenker (this time the operator of the tripod barbecue)!
The technique
The DIY tripod system has been specially developed for & by Basale. The system forms the recurring basis in all tripods made by Basale. Large and small, made of steel or wood, each tripod has the same lifting system at the top.
For the DIY Tripod we have "loosened" this piece of technology and transformed it into a do-it-yourself package. This way everyone can make their own tripod, which is immediately equipped with the unique hoist system.
A few technical details at a glance:
- Completely made of stainless steel

Don't be limited by the length and thickness of the wood, use posts from 4 to 10 cm in diameter, up to 3 meters long! All you need is:
- A drill with a 4mm drill bit
- A (socket) wrench no. 10
- 3 poles of your choice
- And of course the DIY tripod
