How does the philosophy behind Basale translate. in an outdoor cooking brand? The reason for this is rooted in my childhood. I grew up in the polder where I was always playing outside, rain or shine. And as soon as it could, the fire was lit! That started with collecting twigs, choosing dry wood and then building a nice fire. This was often not even in a fire pit or fire bowl, but simply on the ground.
It was an attentive process in which you very tenderly and controlledly ensured that the fire was lit. And then, after 2 x lighting again, a little patience, then the fire was really on. It crackled and you could feel the heat from a distance. I had put effort into making the fire and that translated into satisfaction when the fire was lit.
At one point I was inspired by an ancient method of cooking over the fire. Namely with a tripod and a cauldron attached to it! With willow trunks, a chain with a hook and an old cauldron I managed to make something similar, and so I started making witch potions. This didn't have any function yet, but that didn't matter. I always think back on it with a smile! Later on, the idea came to hang a grill on the hook and have a barbecue with the family over a home-made fire. Of course I experienced this as a king too rich. How nice it was to be able to make food over your own fire; even if it sometimes burned, it was the best food there was.
This was the real outdoor cooking for me, and that's it!
That is why I want to offer that experience to everyone. An experience where you are at the helm. It's back to basics and really think about what you're doing; a remedy in which you escape the daily grind for a while. So no fuss but a purely targeted design so that the focus is mainly on the user. That's why it's basic minimalist but not minimal . It offers a qualitative basis and challenges the user to be creative. Distinctive by simplicity and experience.
